Day 9 – Horseback riding, John Moulton Barn, Jenny Lake in the Tetons

2

Julie and I were supposed to do a balloon ride for our 21st anniversary but we got a call at 5:30 a.m. telling us it was too windy to do the trip…bummer.  So since we were up we went to the John Moulton Barn and got sun rise pictures.

After the barn, we went to pretty close to the same location as Ansel Adams’ “Tetons and Snake River” photo.  The story is he took several weeks working to get this famous photo.  So I took 20 minutes and took my shot a recreating it.  This is a rough draft of that effort.  I need more time in post processing to make it better.  Clearly, I’m no Ansel Adams.

Here is the original from Ansel Adams.

After we got back from the morning photos shoot we all went horseback riding.  The girls had a great time and I had the only horse I’ve ever ridden that actually did what you asked it to with the reins.

After the horse adventure we went to Jenny Lake in the Tetons and took a boat across the lake and then hiked back around the lake.  It was a nice walk about 3.5 miles and we saw some great sights.

The pictures are great. The one of Kirsten on the horse looking back was great. It had a real meaning “behind” it. She is often a “butt” of our jokes!!!
I could “on and on” “but” I’ll stop!
    JK. We luv her!!
