Day 10 – Travel across Wyoming, land of new power

0

I think we’re all pretty sad we had to leave the Tetons – the view was great, and there where so many more things to do.  But it is time to get on the road again.

Today we traveled from Jackson, Wyoming to Fort Collins, Colorado. The drive across Wyoming started in the mountains and went downhill from there J.    The wide-open spaces of Wyoming are dotted with energy sources. New oil wells were being drilled, older oil pumps were all over the place, wind farms were popping up like weeds, coal mining, and I just ran into a guy in the elevator who builds nuclear power plants. I’m glad someone is paying attention because gas prices seem to just go up.

Drill baby, drill!

I think we saw three or four wind farms.  This is just part of one.

Just some cool rocks along the road

Add another state to the list…

After we got checked into our hotel we went to “Old Town” in Fort Collins for dinner.  It was a neat area that I would like to have been able to spend more time exploring.

Monday we go to the Rocky Mountain National Park. I suspect there will be better pictures to be had in the park.  We’re hoping for good weather.
