Basketball Tickets Template

My First Template for Sports Portrait/Action photos.

Update: A newly designed Soccer Ticket Template is here.  Please Contact me if you’re like one of these type templates customized for your team or organization.

Something that’s been on my to-do list for some time is to figure out how to create templates for event photography.  One of the most popular photo “gimmicks” in sport events are templates.  Okay, maybe Gimmick is a bad word.  Many people really like the added style of a good memory-mate, a magazine cover, or a ticket I’ve created for this post. This  ticket was  inspired by my  friend  Anthony Griego. He made some tickets for his sports photography business.  Anthony is a full time sports shooter and works for Kim Jew Studios New Mexico.  Anthony’s tickets inspired me to give them a try. It took me quite a bit of time to create this first template because I had to do a lot of “Googleing” to figure out how to create it with PS-Elements (right – I don’t have the full up Photoshop but I wouldn’t know what to do with it if I did – not yet anyway).  Next time I need basketball tickets I’ll  be able to go quite a bit faster  because I made it all in PS layers.  Now all I have to do is replace the photo layer and change the name or even the team name. I’m pretty happy with the results.  Based on Anthony’s design, these are setup to be printed on a 16×20 sheet and cut into two 8×20 tickets.  They’ll make good wall posters or even locker decorations.  If you print them on them on a  4 X 6 they make really nice “actual sized”  tickets.   I think the girls will be pretty happy with them. Now that I’ve got this figured out I’ll add a new item to my to-do list and put together a tutorial on how to create templates like this one for everyone here to share.
