When it comes to running, “When Pigs Fly” would have been my response to anyone that might have asked me to run in a race of any length just a couple of years ago but today those pigs flew and I am celebrating!

Earlier this morning I finished my first 1/2 Marathon!  I ran in the Cincinnati Flying Pig 1/2 Marathon.   I was going to take a small digital camera to take pictures along the way but there was a lot of rain as I left home and I was afraid of ruining it.  So, sorry but there are no pictures from the event.

At 13.1 miles this was the longest run I’ve ever done.  My unofficial time was 2:35 but that will change a little (hopefully faster) when they post the times on the website.

The crowd in Cincinnati was amazing.  There were people lining the streets for nearly every bit of the route.  They cheered and held up signs rooting us all on.  Many thanks to the people of Cincinnati for putting on such a great event!
