Metal Medal on Metal

0

When you run the Flying Pig 1/2 Marathon you get a nice metal at the end.  This sucker is heavy and well made.  This is a nice reminder of the effort to get ready and do the run.

The medal on metal was something I came up with when I was looking for a backdrop to shoot against. It just worked for me. Mixing the soft warm light with the hard cold light just seemed right for this image to me. I was able to split top and bottom in sort of a gradient look Trying to get that transition to occur at the right place was a challenge.

Strobist info: Westcott soft box camera right with SB800 at 1/2 and a full 1/2 CTO.   SB600 with chloroplast grid snoot at 1/4 camera left.  All fired with my Radiopopper PX system controlled via the D300 commander in manual mode.  The back ground is our fridge.
