I&#039;m sure you can get similar results with the small grids.  The strip box will just let you paint the subject over a much higher broader area. 

I can&#039;t wait to see what you come up with!

What kind of gridded strip boxes did you use?  I&#039;d like to try this out; wonder if I could do a DIY strip box.

I&#039;ve got SB800s and an AB800.

I have the inexpensive grids you just gaffer tape to your speedlights; may try that by itself or wrapped with black foam sheets.
