Many [...]

We had a short break in the weather on Thursday and Friday.  The weather was a regular heat wave – in the 40s!    I was able to get out and take a little hike and I found this bull thistle and thought it looked like winter…dead and lifeless but still beautiful to look at.  [...]

We drove over to Malibu for a nice seafood dinner on the beach and caught one more sunset.  This trip sure has provided a lot of opportunities to capture some wonderfully colorful sunsets.  The pictures are below.
There are no plans for tomorrow – yet.  But I’m sure it will be something cool.

The road to Hana is a bit of legend around here.  The locals all talk about how “adventurous” the drive is to Hana.  There are over 600 curves and more than 50 one lane bridges and most the the drive is along a drop off into the ocean.  Yeah, it’s fifty some miles into the [...]

Wow!  What a view!  10,000 feet above sea level and we can see the sea from here!  We arrive on the summit at  6:00.   45 minutes later the sun would come up and we’d see the why the call it Haleakala – “The house of the sun”.  The temp is about 40 degrees and [...]

Most of the time I take pictures of stuff that interests me.  But everything I read says have a subject in mind before you pick up the camera.  That makes sense but sometimes it is harder than you might think to figure out what you want to take a picture of… I guess that’s the [...]

Now I know what it feels like to be Tina Turner.  Why – because we just got a smack down from Ike.  Hurricane Ike, that is.  That big blowhard of a storm that started off the coast of Africa, spun across the Atlantic, wiped out a few Caribbean islands (Wisely avoiding Key West), cut through [...]
